I am Pat Twiselton and Membership Officer for the Northampton Branch of the BCS. I drifted into IT almost by accident. Leaving school I went to work in Barclays Bank and then Anglia Building Society (now Nationwide).
I moved on to be a cashier and assistant manager at a local branch in Northampton before joining the Training department – travelling the branch network to implement new counter top and back office computer systems.
After 12 years I left to become a partner in my father’s roofing business but we suffered from the recession of the late 80’s and to be honest I also missed the buzz and interaction of the office.
I then joined a training organisation, planning and running courses in IT, accounts and management skills. I met my husband through this job.
For the past 15 years I have been working for a software company – now called COA Solutions – who specialise in accounting and business solutions software. After 12 years out on the road as a consultant I now work as a senior QA consultant testing and running QA projects for a variety of products and working closely with our overseas teams in Vietnam. I am a full member of AAT and am hoping to expand on this by gaining a BA(Hons) International Accounting Degree through the University of Northampton.

I am Scott Bullock a freelance IT & Information Security consultant, specialising in working with organisations to improve their security posture on a technical & organisational level while remaining competitive in today’s changing market.
As with most people of my generation the first "look" into computers happened when I was asked by a friend in an electronics class to help "fix" a ZX81.From those humble beginnings of typing endless instructions my career developed firstly into Commercial Flight & Ground Simulation (main battle tanks) involving very old PDP 11's. Then into real-time high speed software control of machinery travelling the world installing and adapting code to suit customer’s requirements. Managing IT infrastructure for a number of UK businesses was a natural next step in my career a dual role managing a software development team & the supporting IT Team. In recent years I have managed large scale IT projects for a Swiss based global manufacturing company. These projects included a meshed Internet based IP VPN WAN, Remote access, IP Telephony, Video Conferencing and Active Directory migration. For the last 5 years I have been involved primarily in the realm of Information Security where I attained the CISSP, CISM & ISO 27001 Lead Auditor certifications to support my experience & background.
Out of work time I spend far too much time on console games interrupted only by long dog walks .When the winter comes you will find me strapped to a pair of skis up a Swiss mountain.
